36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 1-3

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 1 April 2026 Wednesday Daily Devotional

Many years ago, I was visiting one of our parishes abroad, and when I landed at the airport, one of the pastors who usually came to welcome me anytime I visited the country was not there. When I asked about him, I was told that he was dying in a hospital. I asked if we could stop at the hospital on our way from the airport, and I was taken there immediately. In that hospital, they had a special room where people with ‘hopeless’ cases were kept.

Once a patient was moved to that room, it meant that the fellow would likely not survive whatever ailment he or she had, and this was where the pastor was kept. He had cancer, and the doctors’ reports were not good at all. I prayed for him and commanded the spirit of death to take its hands off him. I didn’t pray for the other patients in the room because, in that country, you can be arrested for praying for a sick person when the fellow has not given his or her consent. After praying for the pastor, I left the hospital immediately. About three days later, he was completely healed and was discharged. It wasn’t my doing; rather, it was God who backed up my word with so much power. I learnt later that on the day he was discharged, every other person in the room was discharged as well. Imagine what could have happened if I had heard the sad report concerning him and just sympathized with him instead of declaring the word of God over him.

Child of God, you might not know the great miracles you are hindering if you refuse to speak God’s word to unfavorable situations. You must realize that you are not ordinary and your words carry power because you are a child of God. When you encounter a mountain in the way of your progress, speak to it in the name of Jesus, and it will obey you (Mark 11:23).

Revelation 1:6 says that you are a king, and Ecclesiastes 8:4 says that where the word of a king is, there is power. This means that whenever you speak, power shows up.

Doubt is one of the major things that can stop power from showing up when you speak.

Beloved, don’t keep quiet in the face of negative situations; speak God’s word over them in faith, and they will turn around completely for good, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 1 April 2026 Wednesday – WORD OF POWER II

1. Father, I thank You for the authority You have given me as Your child. Thank You that my words carry power because I am a king and a priest before You, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have kept silent in the face of negative situations, sympathized with problems instead of speaking to them, or allowed doubt to silence my faith-filled declarations, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, fill my mouth with boldness and faith. When I encounter mountains of sickness, poverty, stagnation, and opposition, let me speak to them in the name of Jesus, and let them obey, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, just as You raised Jairus’ daughter from death with a word, let every dead situation in my life—dead dreams, dead finances, dead relationships—hear my voice and come alive, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, when I speak Your word, let Your power show up on the scene. Let every report of hopelessness be reversed, and let testimonies of healing, deliverance, and restoration follow my declarations, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, deliver me from the spirit of doubt. Let my heart be fully persuaded that whatever I say in faith, believing, I shall have, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, I receive the grace to be like the pastor in the testimony—to speak Your word over situations and watch Your power work not only for me but for those around me, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, help me to never be intimidated by negative reports. Like Jesus, let me speak life where others speak death, and let faith rise where fear threatens, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, for every believer reading this, let their words carry the weight of Your authority. Let them speak to mountains, and let those mountains move, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific mountains or dead situations in your life—health, finances, family, career—and speak words of faith over them in Jesus’ name).

11. Thank You, Father, for the power in my words because I am Your child. I will speak, and it shall be established, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
