Open Heavens 1 September 2025 Monday – Allow No Barriers to The Gospel
MEMORISE: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isaiah 61:1
READ: 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 Open Heavens 1 September 2025
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 1 September 2025 Monday Daily Devotional
People keep asking why The Redeemed Christian Church of God is so successful all over the world. As a matter of fact, we are in some nations where Christianity is not allowed. In some of these nations, we baptise people secretly, and whenever we want to talk about the blood of Jesus, we say BOJ. We have had considerable impact in some of these nations because we did not allow anything deter us from spreading the gospel. We hold Bible Study meetings in open fields and miracles happen. Sometimes, the political leaders in such places come quietly at night, acknowledging that our God is the Almighty.
There was once a lady evangelist and missionary who was working in a village in Africa. In that village, she got everybody to become born again. The people realised what God had done for them, and they were on fire for Him. The lady then decided to convert those in the neighbouring village too. She informed the people around her about her plans, but they were not in favour of it. “You can go to another village, ma’am, not there,” they advised. She asked, “Why not?” They replied, “Because there are lions on the way.
We have been hearing them roaring, and when they roar like that, it means they are hungry. Please, don’t go near that village.” “But I must go,” she insisted.
So, a very elderly and feeble man said to her, “Okay, if you must go, I will go with you.” The evangelist looked at him and said, “If a lion attacks, even I can defend myself better than you can.” The man said, “You don’t understand; lions don’t attack when they are full. They only kill when they are hungry. So, the idea is this: I will walk ahead of you, the lions will kill and eat me, and then your way will be clear.” Those villagers were ready to lay down their lives for the gospel to reach the unreached.
Beloved, God will not be asking you for too much by telling you to preach to your boss, for instance. However, if you are afraid, you might lose your job and refuse to do it, you will be hindering an unsaved soul from hearing the gospel and becoming saved. Do not let any barrier keep you from preaching the gospel;
God is counting on you to prevent many people from heading towards eternal damnation.

Open Heavens 1 September 2025 Monday Commentary
Praise the Lord!
Our topic for today once more says allow no barriers to the gospel. Dear brothers and sisters, we know that one of the great assignments God has given to us is taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. It is quite sad that today many believers have become Christians of convenience. They are content with going to church on Sundays and at most maybe being workers in church. Many believers in fact have become very careful not to allow anything affect their own comfort. If it would disturb them in any way then they are uninterested. The apostle in Romans 1:16 declared that I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. He said it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.
One of the greatest heart desires of God still remains the salvation of the souls of men. The question to us today remains what is serving as a barrier for the gospel reaching out to others in our lives. Many people had to leave their comfort zones to come down to our various regions to Africa for example for us to see the revival we are seeing here today. God is also counting on us to also do the same. Take the gospel to the nations to the ends of the earth that souls may be saved. You may however not necessarily begin to go on a missionary journey to another nation. You can start from right where you are. Remember the story of the missionary our father and the Lord talked about in today’s study. That missionary must have sacrificed great comfort to be on that mission field. They were literally ready to lay down their lives for the gospel. comparing this sacrifice with what God asks of us today. He is not necessarily asking us to face lions. He’s simply asking us to tell our friends, that neighbor of yours, that colleague of yours at the office, or even your boss, tell them about Jesus. Yet, sadly, many of us hesitate probably because of fear or some other reasons.
Beloved, when we allow such fears or such barriers to silence us, we are hindering souls from eternal life. What it means is that we are quietly watching them go into hell. In today’s world, there are various things that could serve as barriers. Several reasons why many believers may not be preaching the gospel. For some, it is fear. The fear of persecution, the fear of man, the fear of losing something very dear to us. Maybe the fear of even losing your job. Today, God is calling us to a life of boldness. And he wants only the fear of God to govern our decisions. Another barrier is comfort. Many believers are too comfortable. They say to themselves, “I don’t want to offend anyone. I don’t want to sound disrespectful. I don’t want to sound like I am judging them.” Meanwhile, souls are perishing. Do not forget, dear brothers and sisters, that true love is not silent. True love would warn you of danger. I am sure if you saw someone walking into fire, you’d not remain quiet. That is the same way we should think about the souls of men. Another barrier is excuses.
Many people give excuses. They say, “I don’t know how to preach, but I have never done this before.” “Oh, I don’t even know any scripture.” Some would even say, “I don’t have time.” But God wants us to drop all of these excuses aside and simply make ourselves available. Remember the woman who was by the well, the Samaritan woman. She simply shared her experience with our Lord Jesus Christ. She told people, “Come and see a man which told me all things that I ever did.” Evangelism is not always about eloquence. It is not about Queen’s English or how fluent you are. It is about sharing Jesus and depending upon the spirit of God to convict the hearts of men. Dear brothers and sisters, never forget also that there is reward for evangelism. Our God is a faithful rewarder. Scripture also makes us understand that there are crowns of rejoicing awaiting those who win souls. We are made to understand that when we preach the gospel, we partner with God in the greatest work on earth, rescuing men from hell. So, see evangelism for what it is, saving the souls of men, snatching them from hell. And when we do this, scripture makes us understand that there is great rejoicing in heaven. Now, do you think that our God would be so unjust to let a man who brings joy to heaven to go unrewarded? Never. He would reward that man abundantly. Hallelujah.
So, today’s word to us is very simple. We are reminded that the gospel of Christ cannot be stopped. We’re also reminded that true Christianity demands sacrifice sometimes even to the point of risking one’s life. We learned from today’s study that God is not asking too much of us. He simply asks that we witness to those around us also that allowing fear, comfort or excuses to stop us from evangelism hinders souls from salvation. We learned from today’s study also that every soul won to Christ is a crown for us in eternity and brings joy to heaven. Hallelujah.
I would like us at this point to bow our heads. And we’ll be telling the Lord today we’ say, “Father, thank you for the privilege of carrying the gospel of Christ.” Appreciate the Lord. Say, “Father, thank you for making us ambassadors. Thank you for the divine assignment also to tell others about our great experience with you. how you have changed our lives, how you have transformed us and the hope of a glorious future that we have. Receive our thanks in Jesus’s name. Now ask the Lord today say father please remove every spirit of fear and timidity from my life in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today say father please replace fear with boldness. Replace it with the grace to stand and to tell everyone around me about the gospel of Christ in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today say, “Father, help me that wherever I go, I’ll be a mobile evangelist in the name of Jesus.” Tell the Lord today, “Father, let my life shine forth. Let it shine as light that draws people to your knowledge in the name of Jesus.” Let men encounter me and encounter Christ. Let them encounter me and let their lives be changed and transformed for the better forever in the name of Jesus.
Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, use me. Use me as an instrument to rescue souls from eternal damnation in the name of Jesus. Use me as a tool in your hands. Use me as a vessel. Use me as an instrument. Lord, everywhere I go, let souls be saved in the name of Jesus. Why not ask the Lord also say, “Father, everywhere I open my mouth to speak of the gospel, let there be confirmation with signs and wonders following in the name of Jesus. Let your spirit be mighty upon that place. Let men see the raw manifestation of your power and let them be convicted in the name of Jesus. Begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him, worship him, adore him, give him thanks for answers to prayers. Thank him because we would no longer be the same again for good. That from this day moving forward, he would put his word in our mouths. And as we speak, the hearts of men bow to the majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ. They come to his saving knowledge. Bless the name of the Lord and give him thanks. Blessed be your name our father in Jesus’ name we have prayed. Amen.
Open Heavens 1 September 2025 Monday Hymn
Hymn 23: Take My Life And Let It Be
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
