MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 10 October 2025 Friday Daily Devotional

God’s word is light. Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” When light is absent, people stumble and miss their way. I pray that the light of God will brighten your path and guide you through life, in Jesus’ name. The word of God is also truth. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” When you want to know the truth about anything, search through the Scriptures.

When you want to know the truth about your health, don’t keep staring at a medical report; instead, focus on God’s word and believe in what He has said in His word concerning your health. 1 Peter 2:24 says that by His stripes, you were healed. This is a settled matter, and regardless of what any report says, good health and healing is the truth about you.

When you want to know the truth about your finances, read through God’s word, not the economic report or forecast. Economists can say whatever they want to say, but you must choose to believe the word of the Lord. God’s word contains the truth about everything that concerns you.

God’s word is also life (John 6:63). If anything in your life or around you is dead, God’s word can bring it back to life. By His word, Peter’s dead business received a net-breaking, boat-sinking revival (Luke 5:1-7). By His word, the dead son of the widow of Nain jumped back to life (Luke 7:11-15). God’s word is alive.

According to today’s memory verse, His word is living, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. Today’s memory verse further tells us that the word of God reveals things that are ordinarily not easy to see or understand. There is nothing hidden under the sun that God’s word cannot unveil (Hebrews 4:13). Apart from unveiling the things that are hidden, God’s word brings peace amid storms.

When Jesus and His disciples were trying to cross to the other side of a sea, they didn’t expect that they would be caught in the middle of a storm. The storm came, and it was so fierce that the disciples thought they would die. They began to panic, but thankfully, Jesus was in the boat, and His word calmed the storm (Mark 4:35- 39).

Beloved, God’s word contains all that you need in life. All you have to do is study it, believe it, meditate on it, and apply it in your daily life.

Our topic for today once more is the word of God. And today’s study reveals to us that the word of God is not just any book. It is not just another book of spiritual sayings. It is life. It is light. It is truth personified. We see that his word shines in the darkest part. It brings direction. His word brings comfort and hope. We can see from today’s study that without God’s word, people will stumble and lose their way. They would be misguided. They would be misdirected. As a matter of fact, a world without God’s word is a world of chaos. When the word of God fills your heart, confusion gives way. It gives way to clarity. Fear gives way to faith and darkness disappears. It gives way for divine illumination. Hallelujah.

You would agree with me that many times we seek direction from human opinions. We seek direction maybe from our feelings or sometimes from experts yet we overlook the one sure compass the one which is able to lead us without failing talking about God’s word. It is also possible that because we live in the year 2025 some may think that the word of God is outdated. It is never outdated. The word of God is ever fresh and eternally reliable. It guides us through the uncertainties of life that may come our way. It helps us to discern right from wrong. It helps us to discern the truth from deception and wisdom from foolishness. And if God’s word becomes your daily light, you will never walk in darkness again. When the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness, God guided them by a pillar of fire at night and a pillar of cloud by day. That pillar represented the presence and the direction of God. Today we have his word with us. And that same light is able to shine through scripture to guide us. Whenever you open your Bible with faith and reverence, you are allowing divine light to enter into your path. If you are confused about your career, your family, or your future, go to the word of God. Go to the source. If you are unsure of the next step, let the word of God illuminate your path. His word never misleads anyone.

In recent times, there have been technology that can lead you from one point to the other. Sometimes you are entirely clueless about the place you are to go to. You have no idea of the next step you should take to lead you to your destination. But then you punch the address and it shows you step by step, right turn then left turn after 100 m on and on that way and in no time you’d be at your location. If man has that technology then God has even better. God has a more advanced technology for his children to lead and guide them. A right. And we learned from today’s study that that is what his word can do for us. Hallelujah. We also learned from today’s study that his word is truth. The truth that can liberate. The word of God does not always have to align with our physical realities. The word of God is God’s own perception, his own opinion. what he has said about our situation and our circumstance. It is possible to feel pain. It is possible to be sick. Yet that is not God’s declaration over you. Can we ignore the fact that you feel pain? No. That is a fact, not the truth. And we must understand the difference. And where the both of them stand side by side, the truth always wins. The truth of God’s word is that you are the head and never the tail irrespective of where you are currently. So the fact says that you are sick, but the truth says that by his stripes you were healed.

The facts may show lack, but the truth says my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory. Facts may say that the situation is impossible. But the truth says that with God all things, every single thing is possible. So beloved, never forget that the truth of God’s word always overrides the facts of man. So ensure never to build your life on what the world says. Build it on what the word says. Truth never changes. And when you walk in truth, you walk in the freedom that God has given to you. Hallelujah.

We also learned from today’s study that the word is life that revives. You remember the story of prophet Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones. God told him to speak his word. And as he prophesied, lifeless bones came together, flesh formed upon them, and the spirit entered them. Then they became a mighty army. what medical science could not do. The word accomplished in an instant. Maybe there is something that seems dead in your life. Maybe your business, your marriage, your vision, or your faith. The word of God has the power to revive it. Speak the word over that situation.

Declare God’s promises with faith and life will spring forth again. Today’s study also reveals to us that the word unveils what is hidden. Hallelujah. There is no doubt that God’s word transforms us. It reveals motives. It corrects errors. It guides us into righteousness. When we study God’s word sincerely, it is able to expose areas of compromise in our hearts. His word is able to guide our conscience. It is able to bring us peace in our soul. It corrects and comforts us. His word is able to search our hearts daily. And if we open up our hearts to him, he will keep us aligned with his will. Hallelujah. It is my prayer for us today that the Lord would continue to grant us the grace to embrace his word which is light unto us. That our lives would be filled with his light in the name of Jesus. That his word would be truth also. It would reveal his mind to us in the name of Jesus. That his word would be life unto us. It would restore dead things and bring hope alive again in our situations in the name of Jesus. It is my prayer for us that his word will reveal secrets to us and bring us peace in the name of Jesus.

I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord. Say, “Father, thank you for the light of life that comes through your word in the name of Jesus.” Just appreciate him. Say, “Father, thank you.” Appreciate him. Say, “Father, we are grateful. to receive our thanks in Jesus’ name. Now ask the Lord today say Lord please open my eyes to see wondrous things out of your word daily in the name of Jesus. Open my eyes to behold wondrous things that as I search the scriptures as I dedicate myself to your word. Lord let my eyes be opened. Let my spiritual eyes be enlightened. Let me see your promises to me in your word. Let me behold your wondrous promises to me in them in Jesus name. Let me not read blindly. Let my eyes be opened in the name of Jesus. Now ask the Lord also today. Say, “Father, let your word illuminate my path and guide every decision I make in the name of Jesus.” Maybe you are in the valley of decision right now. You’re trying to take a step. Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, help me. Help me, oh Lord. Grant me the grace to be led by your spirit in the name of Jesus. Help me. For I know nothing by myself. of myself I can do nothing. Lord lead me. Let your wisdom be made available to me. Illuminate my path in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say Lord Jesus please breathe life into every dead area of my life through your word in Jesus name. Maybe there’s a situation that seems hopeless. Say father today as I trust in your word let that situation come alive again. Let hope be restored. Let there be newness in the name of Jesus. Let life spring forth in the name of Jesus and let there be a restoration to your glory in Jesus name we have prayed. Next ask the Lord today say holy spirit help me to live by the truth of the word and not by the opinions of men in Jesus’ name. Ask the Lord today for the grace to take our eyes off doctor’s reports to take our eyes off facts. to take our eyes off what we may call the realities of men and place our eyes on the truth of his word in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today for the grace to trust him 100%. The grace to trust him wholeheartedly, the grace to believe everything he has spoken concerning us that once God has said it, that settles it for us in the name of Jesus. Begin to appreciate the Lord for answers to prayers. Just worship him and give him thanks. Father, we are grateful. In Jesus’ name we have prayed. Amen.
