MEMORISE: Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. Mark 14:38

READ: 1 Kings 19:1-4 Open Heavens 11 August 2025

1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.

3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.

4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 11 August 2025 Monday Daily Devotional

In today’s Bible reading, after Elijah had called down fire on Mount Carmel, lots of virtue had gone out of him, and he needed to refill. He had just won a victory, and a revival had started, but he got down from the mountain to discover that Jezebel was as unrepentant as before. However, because the anointing upon Him was now depleted, he couldn’t stand to face her, so he fled.

Sometimes, people do mighty things with the anointing, thinking that is all, but not long after they are done, they discover that more things that need the anointing are waiting. A fellow can raise the dead in church, and people will rejoice; however, when that fellow gets home, there may be another problem waiting to be solved with the anointing. This is why it is important to recharge your spiritual batteries as soon as possible every time you use the anointing.

Many pastors host programmes, and when hosting the programmes, they fast and pray. However, the moment the programme is over, they begin to feast and do not allow God to refill them with His anointing. By the following Sunday, people discover that it is not the same fellow who ministered the previous Sunday that is ministering because the anointing had been depleted and had not been refilled.

Fasting and all other ways to become filled with the anointing are not to end when programmes end; they are to be a lifestyle.

After periods of high spiritual activity where a lot of the anointing is used up, it is important to be refilled to at least the level that you were before, if not even higher.

Beloved, you must remain vigilant and sensitive at all times because you have an enemy who never takes a break. He always goes around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Have you just had a great victory? It is not time to let your guard down; it is time to return to the secret place to recharge and refill. It is time to guard your heart with all diligence so you can remain fit and relevant for God’s next agenda. The Bible recorded many instances where Jesus retreated to refill. For example, after a major ministration in Mark 1:34, the next verse says that He retreated into a solitary place to pray. He’s our perfect model, and we must do the same to remain relevant in God’s kingdom.

Key Point – Open Heavens 11 August 2025

After every victory, retreat into God’s presence for a refill.

Open Heavens 12 August 2025 Monday Commentary

Praise the Lord! Our topic for today once more is under his cover Beloved let me begin by asking a very deep and soul-searching question. Are you living under God’s divine cover or are you walking in and out of his presence like someone who is unsure of where they belong to? I want to believe you would agree with me that in a world like ours today which is full of much uncertainty danger and spiritual darkness. There is one thing that is more important than money fame or influence. It is the covering of the Almighty But many people today believers inclusive misunderstand what it means to live under that cover.

They think of God’s protection like a casual benefit which when you need it you just dash in you get it and then you move on. We can learn from today’s study that as much as God’s cover is supernatural and powerful there are certain conditions to enjoy the full benefits. Today’s study reveals to us that God has a general cover, and this is the basic expression of his mercy such that even the most hardened atheist someone who does not believe in God at all can enjoy his grace. That is why they can breathe in and out, that is why they can also have a share of the sunlight. That is why they can also enjoy the rain the wind and many other things which God has made. We learn from today However that there is yet another special cover one that is reserved only for God’s children; only his children enjoy these benefits. Only those who belong to his kingdom enjoy this special covering belonging to his kingdom comes with divine protection It comes with enjoying spiritual authority and heavenly backing. We also learned from today’s study very importantly that there is a premium for this divine insurance.

We live in a world today where people are comfortable with the idea of insurance. They pay for health insurance, auto insurance some even pay for life insurance too and we know that you must pay your premiums if you must be covered It is the same also with God’s special cover while salvation is free God desires fellowship from us and as children of God today the premium that we pay is not money. It is daily devotion obedience service and intimacy with God It is quite sad today that too many Christians want full coverage on part-time devotion to God. They want the promises of Psalm 91 while living like Psalm 1:1 talking about walking in the council of the ungodly. We must note that God does not cover casual visitors. He covers committed dwellers This takes us to our next point which our father and the Lord makes us understand today that there is danger in inconsistency.

One of the enemy’s strategies is spiritual separation The moment you disconnect from God’s presence you begin to lose your spiritual sensitivity you start living off yesterday’s anointing that’s when compromise becomes easier and discernment becomes harder. So, as we desire to be under his cover God desires that we love him we fellowship with him consistently not on and off not here today and there tomorrow. So how do you abide under God’s cover? We learned from today’s study that we must engage in daily fellowship. We must read his word and pray, we must consistently worship, we must seek his face and not just his hands alone; Fellowshipping with fellow believers is also very important It keeps your fire burning. We must also engage in obedient living a holy life. Hallelujah!

Beloved don’t settle for the basic coverage that God gives to everyone when you can actually enjoy the full package God’s special cover is not for the crowd It is for the committed If you’ve been going in and out of his presence please stop Make up your mind today to dwell There is no safer place than the shadow of the Almighty There is no better premium than a life that is fully surrendered to him And there is no greater privilege than living under God’s divine cover I would like us at this point to bow our heads and first we’ll be appreciating the Lord. We’ll be saying “Father, thank you for your covering. Thank you for all that you have made available to us. Thank you also for calling us into a deeper walk a deeper fellowship with you. We are grateful Lord in Jesus’ name.

Now ask the Lord today Say “Father please grant us the grace from today moving forward to always dwell in your secret place that we will abide in your presence in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today for renewed grace to remain and to abide in fellowship with him in Jesus’ name.

Ask the Lord today that we will love his presence, we will love his people We will love to commune with him that his word would be our daily bread that we will love to pray that we will desire intimacy with him like we have never done before in the name of Jesus also ask the Lord today for the grace not to behave like I don’t care believers who do not pay their premiums correctly yet desire to enjoy the advantages of his divine covering ask the Lord today for the grace to be responsible children committing ourselves to a fruitful relationship with him in the name of Jesus Begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers, Worship him and give him thanks Father we are grateful Take all the glory In Jesus’ name we have prayed Amen.
