Open Heavens 17 September 2025 Wednesday – God Can Make You A Solution
MEMORISE: Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isaiah 60:1
READ: 1 Kings 17:17-24 Open Heavens 17 September 2025
17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18 And she said unto Elijah, what have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20 And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 And Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
24 And the woman said to Elijah, now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joel 1-3

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 17 September 2025 Wednesday Daily Devotional
Every day, people see problems that they wish they could do something about. What if God could use you to bring a solution to every problem you encounter or make you the solution to that lingering issue in your family? If something terrible happens in your neighbourhood, can you say a simple prayer that will effect a change such that the people who were in sorrow will start rejoicing? When the widow of one of the sons of the prophets came to Elisha because of her debt problem, she didn’t return home the same. Elisha opened her eyes to see that the solution she desperately needed was in her house. He showed her the secret to getting out of debt and living a financially independent life (2 Kings 4:1-7).
Sometimes, becoming the solution to another person’s problem is not by giving them money but by opening their eyes to see what they have never paid attention to, empowering them with the correct knowledge and information to live a bondage-free life. Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life (John 14:6). Hence, the ultimate way to help people with problems is to introduce Him to them.
In today’s Bible reading, when the son of the widow died, she didn’t turn to the king for help. Instead, she turned to Elijah, and God used him to raise her dead son. If such a thing happened around you, do you have the capacity for God to provide such a solution through you? You may say, “Oh, I am not a prophet like Elijah.” However, there is no record in the Scriptures that only ordained ministers of God can perform miracles. Mark 16:17-18 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Jesus is the ultimate solution to every problem, and He has given those who believe in Him the authority to perform signs and wonders in His name. To do this, however, you must exercise your spirit more than your flesh.
Beloved, be the kind of believer who studies the Bible and prays regularly. When you are such, then God will make you a solution to the problems of many people around you.

Open Heavens 17 September 2025 Wednesday Commentary
Praise the Lord. Our topic for today once more says, “God can make you a solution.” And in the body of today’s devotional, our father and the Lord says to us that every day people see problems that they wish they could do something about. What if God could use you to bring a solution to every problem you encounter or make you the solution to that lingering issue in your family? If something terrible happens in your neighbourhood, can you say a simple prayer that will affect a change such that the people who are in sorrow will start rejoicing? When the widow of one of the sons of the prophets came to Elisha because of her debt problem, she didn’t return home the same.
Elisha opened her eyes to see that the solution she desperately needed was in her house. He showed her the secret to getting out of debt and living a financially independent life. 2 Kings 4:1-7. Sometimes becoming the solution to another person’s problem is not by giving them money, but by opening their eyes to see what they have never paid attention to, empowering them with the correct knowledge and information to live a bondage-free life. Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6. Hence, the ultimate way to help people with solutions is to introduce him to them. In today’s Bible reading, when the son of the widow died, she didn’t turn to the king for help. Instead, she turned to Elijah and God used him to raise her dead son. If such a thing happened around you, do you have the capacity for God to provide such a solution through you? You may say, “Oh, I am not a prophet like Elijah.” However, there is no record in the scriptures that only ordained ministers of God can perform miracles. Mark 16:17 to18 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe.
In my name shall they cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Jesus is the ultimate solution to every problem, and he has given those who believe in him the authority to perform signs and wonders in his name. To do this, however, you must exercise your spirit more than your flesh. Beloved, be the kind of believer who studies the Bible and prays regularly. When you are such, then God will make you a solution to the problems of many people around. God bless his word to us today. Hallelujah.
Our topic for today once more says God can make you a solution. Yesterday we saw a similar topic which was titled me critic or activist with solution and in that study we are made to understand that God wants us to go beyond complaining. He wants us to become solution bearers. We also learned from our study yesterday that it is not enough to have much zeal alone. We need the knowledge and the wisdom of God to lead us through. Hallelujah. Today we have before us the topic which says God can make you a solution. And today’s study reveals to us that God’s desire is not only to bless us but to make us blessings to others. We learn that every child of God is called to shine as a light in a dark world. It is no longer news that there is so much darkness in this world. However, it is one thing to notice a problem and complain about it. But it is another thing entirely to be God’s vessel through which solutions come.
The world has enough critics and complainers already. But what heaven is looking for is for men and women who will be answers to the cries of their generation. Taking a look at our study for today, the story of the widow, the wife of one of the sons of the prophets was mentioned. The woman probably thought that her only option was to mourn and to beg for help. But Elisha revealed that the solution she needed was already in her house. Her little pot of oil therefore became the key to her financial freedom. So one question I would like to ask us is how often do we overlook the little things God has already given us? that gift he has given you, that skill or even that relationship. These could be tools which God has strategically placed in our lives to use to solve our problems or the problems of others. In today’s study, we are made to understand that sometimes the solutions that people need is not necessarily money. Sometimes what they need is wisdom. What they need may be guidance. Sometimes they just need that light, that inspiration. Other times it could even be the manifestation of God’s mighty power and he could use you as a vessel to accomplish this. One scripture that corroborates this is Acts 3:6, the story of Peter and John when they went up to the temple to pray.
That scripture there tells us, “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Hallelujah. We know the rest of the story. This was a man who was said to be lame from his mother’s womb. While the man who was lame was looking up to Peter and John for some money, Peter knew that he could offer more than money. So we learned from today’s study that one way God makes us solutions is by opening our eyes and the eyes of others to hidden resources.
We also learned from today’s study that every problem in this world ultimately finds its answer in Christ. My dear brothers and sisters, whatever it is that you are looking for is found in Christ. Remember the woman with the issue of blood? We can see that even doctors referred to her case as hopeless because for 12 solid years she could find no solution despite all the money she spent. For 12 years she was seeking solutions in the wrong places until one day she touched Jesus and her story changed immediately. This reveals to us that when people meet our Lord Jesus Christ, when they have an encounter with him, chains break, yolks are destroyed, and destinies are restored. So why have you not introduced people to Christ yet? Introducing them to Christ is the greatest way you can help them. Money may run out, opportunities may fade, but our Lord Jesus Christ is an eternal answer. And the solution he gives is permanent. Hallelujah. We also cannot ignore one very important lesson we learned from today’s study.
The fact that we need to build spiritual capacity to be able to let God flow through us as instruments that bring solution in times of need. Do not be that individual who suddenly becomes helpless in the face of problem. We are made to understand from today’s study that signs follow those who believe. If you truly believe on our Lord Jesus Christ, then signs should follow you. And this is irrespective of the titles you carry. You may be a simple brother. Yet God would move mightily through you if you make yourself available. God is looking for vessels. He’s looking for you and I. The power to heal the sick, the power to cast out devils and bring hope to the hopeless is available to all who believe. We also learned from today’s study that being a solution requires more than good intentions. It requires spiritual depth and practical preparation. You can grow spiritually through the word and prayer because you cannot give what you do not have. So a believer who neglects prayer and the word cannot carry solutions to others. To grow spiritually also you need to learn to exercise your spiritual authority. Lay hands on the sick. Intercede for the oppressed and speak life into dry bones. Put your faith to work. Learn to also sharpen the gifts and the talents that God has given to you. That way God can also use them to bless others. Learn also to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the solution is not a very dramatic one. It may be a word of encouragement, a simple prayer, or maybe godly advice that changes someone’s destiny forever.
Beloved, I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord. Say, “Father, thank you for making me a light in this dark world. Say, Father, I am grateful. Thank you for making me the source of hope to this dark generation.” Say, “Lord, I give you thanks. Thank you for making me the salt of the earth. Thank you because you’d be preserving many through me. Now ask the Lord today say Lord please help me that from today moving forward I would become a vessel of solutions to your glory in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today say father help me that everywhere I go I would be bringing solutions. I would bring help. I would bring hope. I would bring joy. I would bring peace. I would bring calmness to situations around me in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say Lord please open my eyes to the hidden treasures that you have placed in my life in the name of Jesus.
All the gifts you have given me, all the talents. Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, open my eyes to the hidden treasure of the authority you have given to me in Christ. Let me not walk as a servant. Let me walk as an heir in the name of Jesus. and let every gift you have given to me begin to manifest in my life and in my destiny in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say Lord Jesus use me to reveal you. Use me to reveal you as the ultimate solution to everyone I meet and everyone that I encounter in the name of Jesus. Let see you through me. Let them meet me and meet you. Let there be remarkable shifts, remarkable turnarounds in the lives of everyone who encounter me in Jesus name. And as they meet you through me, Lord, let them receive permanent solutions to their issues in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say, “Father, please increase my spiritual capacity to be a blessing.” Ask the Lord today say, “Father, let today’s level where I am be the least that I would ever be. Let my spiritual capacity to be a blessing continually increase in the name of Jesus. Let me be a blessing to my friends, my family, my neighbors, my state, my country, and to the world at large in the name of Jesus. Everywhere I go, like our Lord Jesus Christ, let me do good to your glory in the name of Jesus. Begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers, just worship him and give him thanks. Bless his name. Father, we adore you. Take all the glory. Take all the honor. In Jesus’ name we have prayed. Amen.

HYMN 24: I Want To Be Like Jesus
1 Earthly pleasures vainly call me;
I would be like Jesus;
Nothing worldly shall enthrall me,
I would be like Jesus.
Refrain:
Be like Jesus – this my song,
In the home and in the throng;
Be like Jesus, all day long,
I would be like Jesus.
2 He has broken every fetter,
I would be like Jesus;
That my soul may serve Him better,
I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]
3 All the way from earth to glory,
I would be like Jesus;
Telling o’er and o’er the story,
I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]
4 That in heaven He may meet me,
I would be like Jesus;
That His words “Well done” may greet me,
I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]
