MEMORISE: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27

READ: Mark 4:35-41 Open Heavens 20 February 2025

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 20 February 2025 Thursday Daily Devotional

I once had an extremely wealthy friend who lived in Australia. By the time he was about to die, he had billions of dollars in his bank account. When the Lord sent me to preach to him, he told me that every time he closed his eyes to sleep, he would find himself among dead people. Thus, he was always afraid to sleep. Despite his great wealth, he had no peace. Anyone who hasn’t given his or her life to Jesus cannot experience His peace.

When people surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, they feel a great peace within them. This is a common experience to everyone in Christ. When you surrender to God, you will realise that you have been carrying a heavy load in your heart for so long. Jehovah Shalom lifts that load off you and gives you peace. Jesus described this in Matthew 11:28: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

What has been troubling you? Just surrender it to Jehovah Shalom, and you will experience peace like a river. God wants to give you peace from all your struggles, but you must hand your burdens over to Him; you cannot carry them alone. No matter what is happening around you, if you have Jehovah Shalom, you will not be shaken. God’s peace is in degrees. The more you know Him, the greater your peace becomes.

Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” This is a promise; as you follow God, you will enjoy great peace.

In Isaiah 54:13, the Almighty God says that He will teach your children, and they will enjoy great peace. When God spoke about Abraham in Genesis 18:19, He said, “I know Abraham, for he will command his children and household to keep my way.” No wonder Isaac had great peace. In Genesis 22:1-18, when his father bound him to lay him on the altar to be sacrificed, he remained calm. He had great peace because he had been brought up in the way of the Lord.

Beloved, Jehovah Shalom wants to multiply His peace in your life and in the lives of your descendants, but for Him to do so, you must love His laws and ways.

Prayer Point – Open Heavens 20 February 2025

The more you love God’s laws and ways, the greater your peace will be.

Open Heavens 20 February 2025 Thursday Hymn

HYMN 29 – When Peace Like A River Attendeth My Way

1 When peace like a river

attendeth my way,

when sorrows like sea billows roll;

whatever my lot,

thou hast taught me to say, It is well,

it is well with my soul.

Refrain

(may be sung after final stanza only):

It is well with my soul;

it is well, it is well with my soul.

2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials

should come,

let this blest assurance control:

that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,

and has shed his own blood for my soul.

Refrain

3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!

my sin, not in part, but the whole,

is nailed to the cross,

and I bear it no more;

praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Refrain

4 O Lord, haste the day

when my faith shall be sight,

the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

the trump shall resound and the Lord shall

descend;

even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain
