36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 27 September 2026 Sunday Daily Devotional

Storms can come in various forms and with varying degrees of intensity. I recall an incident some years ago, when I was travelling from Lagos to London on a plane. When we were about to land at Heathrow Airport, the captain informed us that there was a problem with the door at the belly of the aircraft, and we all understood it to mean that the landing gear wouldn’t be able to function, and in essence, the pilot was going to have to crash-land the plane.

There was a storm on the plane at that moment because confusion and pandemonium broke out all around me. That day, I discovered that rich people do not want to die. I recall seeing a very wealthy man in the first-class cabin who carried a walking stick that was encrusted with diamonds at the top. Since we departed Lagos, he had been getting up, pretending to go to the toilet every now and then to show everyone his expensive walking stick. However, when he heard the captain’s announcement, he really needed to use the toilet.

I tell you with confidence that even if you are anointed, you will become frightened if you are told that your plane cannot land. Therefore, I turned to God and said, “Daddy, embarked on this journey to do Your work. You didn’t tell me when I was leaving to say goodbye to my family that it would be the last time I would see them.” Then He replied, saying, “Don’t worry, son. I’m only delaying the plane’s landing because as soon as you land, people will not let you rest, and I need to talk to you first.” God’s word brought peace to my heart, and the plane continued to circle around the airport while God was speaking to me.

When He finished talking to me, the faulty door opened, and the plane was able to make a normal landing. Despite how tough the situation was, I was at peace because God had spoken to me.

Beloved, when you have an intimate relationship with the Prince of Peace, you will not be troubled by the things that trouble others. You will not run helter-skelter at the hint of trouble because His word will bring peace to your heart. No matter how terrible a situation may be, there is always peace to be found in God’s word. Turn to His word in such instances, and it will keep your heart at peace while turning things around for the better.

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 27 September 2026 – He Speaks Peace II

1. Father, I thank You for being the Prince of Peace who speaks peace to His people. Thank You for the peace that passes all understanding, which keeps my heart and mind through Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have allowed storms, confusion, and fear to trouble my heart instead of turning to Your word, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, speak peace into every troubled area of my life, my home, my finances, my health, my relationships, and my destiny. Let Your peace rule and reign in every situation I face, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, just as Jesus said, Peace, be still, and the storm ceased, I speak peace to every storm raging in my life. Let there be a great calm in every area of my existence, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, I reject every spirit of confusion, panic, and pandemonium. You are not the author of confusion, and I declare that confusion has no place in my life, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, I surrender my life totally to You. I choose to follow Your way and do Your will, so that Your peace may thrive and rule in my heart, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, when I am faced with chaos and uncertainty, help me to cry out to You and listen to what You have to say. Let Your word bring order and peace to every situation, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, I pray for everyone who is living in fear, anxiety, and turmoil. Speak Your peace into their hearts and let them experience the calm that only You can give, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, I receive the peace that Jesus gives, not as the world gives. Let my heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific storms you are facing, such as marital, financial, health, career, or family challenges, and ask God to speak peace into them).

11. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that Your peace will keep my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. I walk in perfect peace because my mind is stayed on You, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
