Open Heavens 29 September 2026 Tuesday – The Power Of The Holy Ghost
MEMORISE: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8
READ: Acts 5:25-33 Open Heavens 29 September 2026
25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Zechariah 6-10
MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 29 September 2026 Tuesday Daily Devotional
In today’s memory verse, Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon them, and it happened exactly as He had said (Acts 2:1-43). The moment the Holy Spirit comes upon you; you will suddenly become strong. You will become bold and empowered to achieve great things because Zechariah 4:6 says, “..Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Many people have failed in various endeavors because they have been trying to function solely by their own power. As long as a person keeps trying to do things solely by his or her own strength, there is a high probability that such a person will fail. However, when the Holy Spirit empowers a person, he or she is assured of a positive outcome.
The power of the Holy Spirit turns cowards into mighty men and weaklings into great terrors to the kingdom of darkness. When this power came upon the apostles, the men who had been hiding from the religious leaders of their time began to confront them boldly. Today’s Bible reading reveals how Peter, who denied knowing Jesus when a maidservant pointed out that he was one of His disciples, boldly spoke about Jesus before those who threatened his life. I recall vividly that after I got born again at the University of
Lagos in 1973, I had a Head of Department whose name was Professor Chike Obi. He was the greatest mathematician Africa had ever produced. Humanly speaking, he was a very good man, but I wondered how someone could be that good and not know the love of Christ. One Sunday evening in church, we prayed and were told to go and win souls, and I said, “When I get to the office tomorrow, I’ll preach to my Head of Department.”
When I got to the office, I went to him to say, “Good morning, sir,” and he thanked me in such a way that I froze and ran away. When I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, however, I became bold to preach to him. I received the power to succeed, win souls, and plant churches, and the power to win in life was also given to me.
Beloved, I pray for you today that you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit just as I did and be empowered to reign in life and be a fruitful witness for Christ, in Jesus’ name

Hymn 6: Conquerors And Overcomers Now We Are
Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory.
If the Lord be for us, we can never fail;
Nothing ’gainst His mighty power can e’er prevail.
Refrain
Conquerors are we,
Thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood;
God will give us victory,
Thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood;
Thro’ the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.
In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us, but unto Him the praise shall be
For salvation and for blood bought victory.
Unto Him that overcometh shall be giv’n
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from Heav’n;
Over yonder He the victor’s palm shall bear
And a robe of white and golden crown shall wear.
