BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 21-22

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 30 August 2025 Saturday Daily Devotional
Paul persecuted Christians and threw some of them in prison (Acts 8:3). He considered himself the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15); however, God transformed him and began to use him to perform special miracles (Acts 19:11-12). If God could use Paul, He can use you too. Acts 5:14-16 tells us that people laid the sick on the streets of Jerusalem so that whenever Peter was passing by, his shadow would fall on them, and they would be healed. This was the same Peter who denied Jesus three times, but God restored him and began to use him mightily. If God could use Peter, He can use you too.
We were having a Holy Ghost Service at Redemption City when a woman got a phone call that her daughter had given birth to a set of twins, and she and the twins had died. The woman responded, “Don’t move them yet; please wait for me.” She ran to the hospital and asked to see the twins – she was shown their dead bodies. She took a bottle of oil and a handkerchief we had prayed over during the service, dropped some of the oil in the mouth of one of the dead twins, and said, “Come back here; who told you that you could die?” Within a few minutes, the baby coughed and came back to life. She did the same with the second baby, and the same thing happened. After this, the entire hospital was in pandemonium. Around that time, her daughter’s body was being wheeled to the mortuary. She told those wheeling the body to stop, dropped some oil in her dead daughter’s mouth, put the handkerchief on her, and said, “Who do you think is going to take care of your children? Don’t waste my time; come back!” Immediately, her daughter came back to life and sat up. God used her to bring three people back to life in one day. Beloved, God can use you to perform miracles too.
Today’s Bible reading says that these signs shall follow them that believe: they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues, lay hands on the sick, and bring healing to them by using the name of Jesus. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you are the perfect candidate for God to use to perform signs and wonders. Be confident of His ability in you, and He will do great and marvelous things through you in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, I believe in You, and I surrender myself for Your use.
Open Heavens 30 August 2025 Saturday Commentary
Hallelujah.
Our topic for today once more says God can use you. And beloved, we learned from today’s study that no matter your past, no matter your weaknesses, no matter how unqualified you may feel, God is able to use you for his glory. The Bible is filled with examples of men and women who were ordinary, who were flawed, who were despised, but God raised them up to be instruments of his power. If God could use them, then he can use you too. Many times, we look at ourselves and conclude that we are too weak or that we are too sinful. Sometimes we see ourselves as too inadequate or too ordinary for God to use to do anything meaningful with us. But the good news is that God does not necessarily call the qualified. Many times, he qualifies the called.
We learned from today’s study that Paul once described himself as the chief of sinners for someone who described himself as the chief of sinners. You can tell that his offense must have been really great and grievous. It is not a new story that before his encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ, he terrorized the early church. He dragged Christians into prison and even approved their debts. If there was just one person who was unworthy of being used by God, then I think it should be Paul. However, when the grace of God located him on his way to Damascus, his life was transformed. From being a persecutor, he became a preacher. From being a murderer, he became a miracle worker. Scripture even records that God worked special miracles through Paul’s hands. So much so that handkerchiefs and aprons carried from his body healed the sick and drove out evil spirits.
This teaches us that a man’s past does not disqualify him from being used by God. Instead, your past can become a testimony of God’s transforming power. How about Peter whom we talked about earlier? His story is a reminder that God can use broken vessels. This man Peter boldly declared that he would never deny Jesus. Yet in one night he denied him three solid times. By human standards, that is a great betrayal. And after such betrayal, he should probably not have anything to do with our Lord Jesus Christ anymore. But our Lord Jesus Christ restored him. The same Peter who denied him previously became the one who was full of God’s power. That even his shadow brought healing to the sick. So, we can also learn from this that failure is not final with God. The fact that you have fallen before does not mean that he is done with you. You may have stumbled, but God is able to lift you up and still use you mightily. In that fallen state, the enemy may want you to believe that you are finished. But God sees that he’s just getting started with you if only you will genuinely return to him. In today’s study, our father and the Lord also shared the powerful testimony of the woman whom God used to bring her daughter and a set of twins back to life. God used her to bring not one, not two, but three persons back to life in one day.
Beloved, this is not a fairy tale. This is the God of power working through an ordinary believer. We learn here that God is not looking for perfect vessels per se. He’s looking for available ones. If God could use that woman to raise the dead, then he can use you too to do the impossible as well. Part of our text for today tells us that these signs shall follow them that believe. The condition there is being a genuine believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those signs would follow those who believe. Not just pastors or prophets or apostles, but any believer. They will cast out devils. They will speak with new tongues. They will heal the sick and perform mighty works through the name of Jesus. So, what is the part we must play if we must be used by God? We must be believers, genuine believers. That scripture tells us that signs shall follow those who believe. We must also surrender ourselves to God as yielded vessels and walk with him by faith and not by sight. Leave fear and doubt aside and embrace faith in him. Hallelujah.
Ensure also to be a believer that is constantly filled with the spirit. There is absolutely nothing you can do without him. A spirit filled Christian is unstoppable. Also remember that in our walk with him, we have been called to a life of obedience. Miracles follow obedience to God, no matter how simple those instructions may be. Also, never allow the enemy or any situation to intimidate you. Be bold in faith. Signs and wonders follow those who dare to act on God’s word, not those who just know it and believe it, but those who take the step to act on it. It is that step of faith that unlocks divine possibilities.
Beloved, always have at the back of your mind that no one is too sinful for God to save or use. Remember that no one has fallen too far that God cannot restore. Remember that God is still working miracles through ordinary people today. Remember also that you are not disqualified. You are chosen. And if you make yourself available to God, he would do wonders through you. I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord for his word to us today. Just give him thanks, worship him and adore him.
Say, “Father, I am grateful. Thank you for reminding me that you can use anyone including me. Receive my thanks in the name of Jesus.” Now tell the Lord today, say, “Father, I believe in you, and I surrender myself to your use in the name of Jesus.” Tell the Lord today, say, “Father, I surrender myself to you. Use me in Jesus’ name.” Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let signs and wonders follow me everywhere I go. Let me be a mighty vessel for you in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today, “Father, use me. Use me to bring healing. Use me to bring deliverance and salvation to others in the name of Jesus.” Tell the Lord today, say, “Father, let my life be a testimony of your power and glory in the name of Jesus.” Let it be a testament to the fact that you can use even ordinary men too for your glory in the name of Jesus. Begin to give him thanks and adore him. Appreciate him for answers to prayers. Father, we worship you. Take all glory in Jesus’s name we have prayed. Amen.
Open Heavens 30 August 2025 Saturday Hymn
HYMN 23: Take My Life And Let It Be
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
