Open Heavens 5 October 2026 Monday – Will You Be Ready? II
MEMORISE: Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Luke 12:40
READ: Matthew 24:4-14 Open Heavens 5 October 2026
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 10-11

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 5 October 2026 Monday Daily Devotional
Jesus likened His second coming to the time when God destroyed the earth with a flood (Genesis 7:11-23) and when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire (Genesis 19:24-25). Just as it was in the times of Noah and Lot, when people were eating, drinking, getting married,
building, planting, buying, and selling, so will it be when the Lord returns (Luke 17:26-30). Life will continue as usual until the Lord’s coming interrupts and changes everything. Imagine a believer who gives in to a temptation just a split second before the rapture takes place. Such a fellow has clearly chosen not to spend eternity with the Lord. I pray that you will be watchful and ready to make heaven when the Lord returns, in Jesus’ name.
Yesterday, I discussed three important things about the Lord’s return. Today, I will discuss the remaining three:
1. It will be unexpected for the unprepared: 2 Peter 3:10 says that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. It is important to note, however, that not everyone is caught unawares by thieves. Matthew 24:43 says that if the goodman of a house had known when a thief would come, he would have watched and prevented his house from being broken up. Stay aware and alert so that you will not miss the rapture.
2. It will not be done in secret: Everybody will know when the Lord returns, whether sinner or saint.
Matthew 24:27 says that as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even unto the west, so shall the Lord’s coming be. When lightning flashes across the sky, everyone sees it. Likewise, the Lord’s return will not be a secret event; the whole world will see those who join Him and those who are left behind. The secret of those who have been pretending to be children of God will be revealed on that day.
3. Jesus is coming for a pure and spotless bride:
Ephesians 5:22-33 tells us that the Church is the Bride of Christ. The Church refers to Christians, not buildings, and you must understand that whatever is expected of the Church is also expected of you. When Jesus returns, only those whose garments are spotless will go with Him. ‘Garment’ here refers to your life. Only those who allow the Lord to sanctify and cleanse them will be His Bride on that day (Ephesians 5:26-27). Beloved, will you be among them?

Dear Lord, please help me to keep my garment pure and holy until Your return, in Jesus’ name
Open Heavens 5 October 2026 Monday Hymn
Hymn 20: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way
1 I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
2 Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
3 My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
4 I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
5 I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”
Prayer Points for Open Heavens 5 October 2026 – Will You Be Ready? II
1. Father, I thank You for the promise of Jesus’ second coming and for the warning to be ready at all times. Thank You for the assurance that You are coming back for a pure and spotless bride, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have lived carelessly, neglected the signs of Your coming, or allowed the things of this world to distract me from being prepared, in Jesus’ name.
3. Father, help me to be watchful and alert, knowing that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. Let me not be caught unawares or unprepared, in Jesus’ name.
4. Lord, deliver me from the spirit of slumber and complacency. Wake me up from spiritual sleep and restore my urgency to be ready for Your return, in Jesus’ name.
5. Father, let my garment be pure and spotless. Sanctify me wholly, and cleanse me from every sin and every stain of the world, so that I may be presented as a glorious bride to Christ, in Jesus’ name.
6. Lord, I pray for every believer who has become complacent about Your return. Stir their hearts and renew their commitment to holiness and readiness, in Jesus’ name.
7. Father, help me to endure to the end, just as Your word says, “He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Let me not give up or turn back, but let me press on toward the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
8. Lord, I pray for the unsaved—my family members, friends, and colleagues. Draw them to Yourself before it is too late, for You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, in Jesus’ name.
9. Father, I pray that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then the end shall come. Use me to spread Your word and win souls for Your kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific areas where you need to be more prepared for Christ’s return—holiness, witnessing, letting go of worldly attachments, or spiritual vigilance—and ask God for grace).
11. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that Jesus is coming back for a pure and spotless bride. I choose to be among those who will be taken when He returns. I will keep my garment pure and holy until Your return, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
