MEMORISE: For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37

READ: Ezekiel 37:1-10  Open Heavens 7 September 2025

1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.

4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 41-43

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 7 September 2025 Sunday Daily Devotional

Several years ago, we held a Holy Ghost Service at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. During the service, the Lord said that there was somebody in the congregation who had only one kidney because the other one had been removed through surgery. The Lord further said that the remaining kidney was not in good condition, so He would give the person two brand-new kidneys. If I had not recognized the voice of God, I wouldn’t have dared to tell the congregation what I heard. A man in the congregation knew that the Lord was talking about him because one of his kidneys had been surgically removed, and the other one was not functioning properly.

On Saturday morning, as soon as the programme was over, he went straight to the hospital where the surgery to remove his kidney was done and asked the surgeon to examine him. The surgeon said, “I remember your case; the day we were removing your kidney, everything went wrong. The surgery that was supposed to take less than an hour lasted eight hours.” When the surgeons examined him, they found two brand-new kidneys.  When God, who is the God of hope (Romans 15:13), steps into a case, that case changes its status from ‘hopeless’ to ‘testimony’.

God gives victory over hopelessness. For example, in Genesis 18:9-14, when He told Abraham that Sarah would have a son in nine months, Sarah laughed because she thought the situation was hopeless. However, the Almighty God, who could have said, “Because you laughed, I cancel what I have said,” did not change his mind. Instead, He said, “You can laugh as much as you like, but Isaac will be born.”

Beloved, if you have considered your situation as hopeless before now, I have good news for you today. In the name that is above every other name, your Isaac will be born. There is no hopeless case with God. Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” In Ezekiel 37:1-10 the Bible tells us that the Almighty God caused dry bones to live again. They were not just dead bodies; they were very dry bones. Yet, the Lord God caused His servant to prophesy, and the dry bones came back to life.

Beloved, the God who made dry bones to live again can take care of your situation. Men may have written you off, but with God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).

Key Point – Open Heavens 7 September 2025

God specialises in turning impossible and hopeless situations around.

Open Heavens 7 September 2025 Sunday Commentary

Praise the Lord.

Our topic for today once more is from hopeless to testimony. Beloved, one of the greatest weapons the enemy uses against humanity is hopelessness. The enemy uses it to weaken the faith of men. And you would agree with me that when hope is gone, strength also withers. When hope dies, prayer sometimes becomes difficult because you may just find yourself struggling to pray. Even scripture makes us understand that hope when it is deferred, it makes the heart sick. When hope dies, some people just resign themselves to faith. They just give up. But today’s study reveals to us that our God is not only a God of power. He is mighty and just. He is also the God of hope. Whenever he steps into a situation, the story of that situation changes. It changes from despair, from pain, from suffering to testimony. It changes from ashes to beauty. It changes from sorrow to laughter.

In today’s study, our father in the Lord tells us the story of a man who had one of his kidneys initially removed and the second one having issues too. Then suddenly the God of hope, the one with whom there’s nothing impossible, stepped into his situation and he got not just one but two brand new kidneys. Now let me ask you, where did the second one come from? It was medically confirmed that one of his kidneys was taken out. God did not just stop at fixing the existing kidney. He did a creative miracle there. This could only be the God of miracles, signs, and wonders at work. The same God who has not forgotten you. The one with whom there’s absolutely nothing impossible. The one with whom there’s hope. In today’s study, we are made to understand that hopelessness is one of Satan’s favorite lies.

Sometimes he whispers to you that it is too late. You are finished. Nothing can be done about that situation anymore. Sometimes he tells you, “You have come to the end.” That is not God’s voice. His own voice says to you, “Is there anything too difficult for me? Is there anything that I, the Lord, cannot do?” Beloved, you may have situations in your health, maybe your marriage or your career, your family or any area of your life that may seem to be beyond remedy. It is possible that you may have been moving from doctor to doctor and probably they’ve even given up on you. It is possible that friends may have deserted you too. It is also very possible that even your own mind has surrendered to despair. But let God’s word to you today rekindle your fate. With God there is absolutely no hopeless case. With God there is even hope for the hopeless. Hallelujah.

Maybe your own situation has also been termed as impossible. Our God specializes in impossible situations. That is even what he does best. When the children of Israel were standing before the Red Sea, their victory at that point seemed like an impossible situation. Who would have thought that under normal circumstances they would not have been crushed by the mighty army coming for them? But when the God of hope stepped in, the situation turned around. Also think about the story of the dry bones that we read in today’s text. God did not just revive dead bodies to leave them that way. He raised an exceeding great army out of very dry bones. How about Lazarus? Somebody who had been dead for 4 days. He was buried and even decaying. Yet at the voice of the master, he came forth alive. What has been considered dead and decayed in your life? Is it your womb? In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, receive a new one. I don’t know what your own dry bone situation is. But the same God who restored kidneys, the same God who gave Isaac to Sarah, the same God who parted the Red Sea, the same God who made Lazarus alive, in the name of Jesus today, he will step into your case, and he would bring hope to that situation in Jesus’ name.

I’d also like us to consider today’s study and see the importance of recognizing the voice of hope. One of the key lessons from today’s testimony of the man with the kidneys is this, that he recognized and held on to the voice of God. Imagine that he had casually dismissed the prophetic word that came through our father in the Lord. Imagine if he had called it just an empty talk. He would never have gone for the test and perhaps he would have died in silence, but he believed God. He acted on it, and it became a testimony. Another thing that we must be very careful about is guarding against the spirit of despair. Hopelessness sometimes disguises itself as being real. Sometimes you’d hear people say things like, “I’m just being practical. Let us tell ourselves the truth. Let us not deceive ourselves.”

Dear brothers and sisters, faith is not denial. It is believing in God’s ability despite the visible facts around you. You know what the enemy wants? He wants you to stop praying. He wants you to quit trying. He wants you to stop believing. That is what he wants. So, he would try his possible best. He would come through various methods. But you must resist him. To enjoy and to experience hope, you must surrender to Christ. You must hold firmly to everything that he has promised you. That is why you must be a student of the word. You must search the scriptures, find what God has said about your situation, stand on it, confess it, pray it, learn to prophesy over your situation. Like Ezekiel spoke to the dry bones, you must also learn to prophesy over that situation to respond to what you desire. Also have patience and refuse to quit.

I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord would be saying, “Father, thank you because there is no hopeless case with you. You are the God of all flesh with whom there is nothing impossible, with whom there is nothing too hard for him to do. Appreciate the Lord and give him thanks. Father, we are grateful. Receive our thanks in the name of Jesus. Now ask the Lord today. Say, Lord, please breathe life into every dry bone situation in my life in the name of Jesus. Just like Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, say, “Father, let every dry bone situation in my life today receive flesh, receive life, receive strength and come alive again in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let every medical impossibility, let every financial impossibility, let everything that is termed as impossibility in my life today become a testimony to your glory in the name of Jesus. Let there be a transformation. Let your hand be stretched forth upon me and turn that situation around for good in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today.

Say, “Father, please replace despair in my heart with living hope in you in the name of Jesus.” Let every tiredness, let every weight today be lifted and let hope arise out of my heart in the name of Jesus. Now ask the Lord today also say, “Father, please turn every situation which men have written off in my family, in my life, in everything that concerns me today into a glorious testimony in the name of Jesus. Let there be a testimony that would ring in the ears of the hearers. Let there be a testimony that when anyone hears it, they would say of a truth, “The Lord did this.” Let there be a testimony that would turn every mocker around into a testifier of your goodness in my life in the name of Jesus. Let everyone who has said, “Where is your God?” come back and say, “Show us the way to this God.” In the name of Jesus, begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers. Father, we are grateful because we know you have heard and answered us. In Jesus’ name, we have prayed.

Amen.

Open Heavens 7 September 2025 Sunday Hymn

HYMN 25: The Great Physician Is Near

1 The great Physician now is near,

The sympathizing Jesus;

He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,

Oh, hear the voice of Jesus.

Refrain:

Sweetest note in seraph song,

Sweetest name on mortal tongue;

Sweetest carol ever sung,

Jesus, blessed Jesus.

2 Your many sins are all forgiv’n,

Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;

Go on your way in peace to heav’n,

And wear a crown with Jesus.

[Refrain]

3 All glory to the dying Lamb!

I now believe in Jesus;

I love the blessed Savior’s name,

I love the name of Jesus.

[Refrain]

4 His name dispels my guilt and fear,

No other name but Jesus;

Oh, how my soul delights to hear

The charming name of Jesus.

[Refrain]
