MEMORISE: Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18

READ: Habakkuk 2:1-3 Open Heavens 8 September 2025

1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

MESSAGE –  Open Heavens 8 September 2025 Monday Daily Devotional

Today’s memory verse says that where there is no vision, the people perish. The rich fool in Luke 12:15-21 died because he told his soul to rest and pursue nothing. A lack of vision kills; when you’re pursuing a goal, your youth is renewed with each passing day. Sometime ago, I told some of my older friends that we are not old men because Joel 2:28 says that the old men shall dream dreams while the young ones will see visions. Since my older friends and I still have visions that we are pursuing, we are young.

Beloved, it is not enough to have a vision; you must also pursue it. Some people can talk so passionately about their vision today, but when you see them again three years from now, you will discover that they are still talking about the vision but have not taken any step to fulfil it. If you ask them why, they will give all sorts of excuses.

People who have a vision they truly believe in don’t let anything stand in their way. Obstacles tremble when a man of vision approaches them. When God gave us the vision of the RCCG campground, we did not have the money, but that did not stop us from taking steps towards getting the land. We overcame that obstacle, and not long after that, another obstacle arose: there was no water in the camp that could support thousands of people. That also did not deter us, and we kept forging ahead. Before long, we had more than enough water.

The reason many people haven’t seen their visions come to pass is that they are not doing anything to fulfil them. To fulfil a vision, you have to make moves first, and when you do, God will carry you towards the vision. Only a fellow who pursues his or her vision will hear it speak. When God spoke to Habakkuk in today’s Bible reading, He instructed him to write the vision so that at the appointed time, it would speak. When you start taking steps in the direction of the vision God has given you, your vision will speak, and many will hear it.

Has God shown you something? Get to work; don’t give room for excuses. God wants to give your vision a voice that can speak life to nations, but until you do something about what you have seen, your vision will remain silent.

Key Point – Open Heavens 8 September 2025

God is willing to carry you towards your vision. However, you need to make moves towards your vision.

Open Heavens 8 September 2025 Monday Commentary

Praise the Lord.

Our topic for today once more is vision. One of the greatest gifts that God gives to a person is a vision. A vision can be said to be a divine picture of a preferred future which is inspired by God. Proverbs chapter 29:18 says that where there is no vision, the people perish. In other words, where people lack direction, where they lack purpose, where they lack a sense of divine assignment, they simply waste away. Vision is what sustains you when circumstances look bleak. It is that light even in the midst of darkness. Vision keeps you moving when the body is tired. Vision is what wakes you up at night and sets you on your table to walk. Vision preserves nations. It preserves families. Vision preserves individuals. Without vision, even the strongest man will crumble. But with vision, even the man who seems weakest will rise.

In the story which our father and the lord tells us in today’s study about the rich fool. We are made to understand from scripture that he lost his life because he had no vision beyond himself. To him wealth was the goal. He thought once he is wealthy once he has enough to eat and drink then he is fulfilled. But he was called a fool. We are made to understand from today’s study that vision renews your youth. You can be 75 years old and still young if you have something burning in your spirit that keeps you pressing forward daily. Something that keeps you hungry. Something that keeps you wanting more. Something that you wake up daily with a burning desire to achieve. It is also possible, however, to be 25 years old and already old. If you have resigned yourself to faith and to idleness, if you have refused to have a purpose for living, if you have refused to pursue your vision, today’s study also reveals to us that beyond daydreaming, beyond having visions, beyond having a burning passion in your heart, you must also rise up to pursue that vision. It is often said that unless you stand up from your bed and walk towards achieving the dreams you had, those dreams will only remain dreams. We also learned from today’s study that many people have found excuses why they have failed to pursue their visions. Some of them may sound genuine.

However, we are also made to understand from today’s study that people who have a vision they truly believe in don’t let anything stand in their way. not finances, not the lack of support, not the lack of connections or the lack of time. If we must be honest to ourselves, I am sure you would agree with me that there would always be excuses. There would always be one reason or the other why we should just rest and relax and not pursue our visions. But you should not be the one giving those excuses. In the words of our father in the Lord in today’s study, he tells us that obstacles tremble when a man of vision approaches them. Sometimes those obstacles only seem insurmountable because you have not taken certain steps. When you take that first step of faith, God will carry you on ego’s wings. So do not give room for excuses. Excuses kill visions. Stop waiting for everything to align. Take the first step. Apply for that program. Start the business with what you have. Write that book. Begin that ministry. Carry out that assignment, that divine instruction which God gave you years ago. And as you move in faith, God himself will strengthen your legs and make provision available.

I am sure you know that God did not part the Red Sea until Moses stretched forth the rod. Actions activate divine intervention. We also learned from today’s study that vision speaks at the appointed time. It may look like nothing is happening, but just like a seed, when the time is right, it would sprout. Never forget also that sometimes the vision God gives to you may be bigger than you. True vision is never just about you. And that was the mistake of the rich fool. He only saw himself. Selfishness in action. Your vision may bring salvation to a whole community. It may bring education to children, healing to the broken or even revival to an entire nation. That is why the devil would do all that it takes to resist you so fiercely. But if you stand firm, God will breathe upon your efforts and what seemed like a small seed will become a great tree of shelter to multitudes.

Beloved, has God shown you something? Has he laid a burden on your heart? Has he given you something that your heart burns for? Maybe it is ministry. Maybe it is business. Maybe he has given you a passion for education or for family. Don’t sit back and don’t just talk about it. Don’t allow excuses to bury it. Rise up and pursue it. And as you do so, God will give your vision a voice that will speak not only to you but to nations in Jesus’ name. I would like us at this point to bow our heads and we’ll be thanking the Lord. First of all, we say, “Father, thank you for the gift of vision. Thank you for putting burning passions in our heart. Thank you for giving us a reason for our existence.” Now, ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, please open my eyes to see clearly what you have planned for me in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today for seeing eyes, eyes that would see and would identify what he has called us to do in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, please deliver me also from the spirit of laziness, from the spirit of excuses that kills vision in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, help me not to be full of excuses. Take every excuse out of my life in the name of Jesus.” Why not ask him also say, “Father, please give me the courage, the strength that I need to pursue the vision you have given me in Jesus’s name. Your strength alone may fail.” Ask the Lord today. Say father reinforce my faith. Help me. Strengthen me on this journey that I will fulfil that vision you have given to me in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say Lord let my vision receive divine speed in the name of Jesus. Let my vision begin to speak. Let it begin to speak forth to people to industries to nations in the name of Jesus. Let it begin to speak at its appointed time. Let it speak in the name of Jesus. Say father let my vision bless not only me but let it also bring transformation. Let it bring healing and deliverance to many lives and to nations in the name of Jesus. Let my vision bring healing to those who need it. Let it bring deliverance to those who need deliverance. Let it bring salvation to as many who needs it in the name of Jesus. Let it solve the problems of many. Let it redirect men to you also in the name of Jesus. Begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers. Just worship him, give him thanks, adore him. Father, we adore your name. Blessed be your holy name. In Jesus’ name we have prayed. Amen.

Open Heavens 8 September 2025 Monday Hymn

Hymn 32: To The Work! To The Work! We Are Servants Of God

1 To the work! to the work! we are servants of God,

Let us follow the path that our Master has trod;

With the balm of His counsel our strength to renew,

Let us do with our might what our hands find to do.

Refrain:

Toiling on, toiling on,

Toiling on, toiling on:

Let us hope, let us watch,

And labor till the Master comes.

2 To the work! to the work! let the hungry be fed;

To the fountain of life let the weary be led;

In the cross and its banner our glory shall be,

While we herald the tidings, “Salvation is free!” [Refrain]

3 To the work! to the work! there is labor for all;

For the kingdom of darkness and error shall fall;

And the name of Jehovah exalted shall be,

In the loud-swelling chorus, “Salvation is free!” [Refrain]

4 To the work! to the work! in the strength of the Lord,

And a robe and a crown shall our labor reward;

When the home of the faithful our dwelling shall be,

And we shout with the ransomed, “Salvation is free!” [Refrain]
